GRAND COULEE – A new year and a new champion is crowned.
In just their second year of being in the Grand Coulee Area Softball Co-Ed League, Bowman Electric has established themselves as the new powers.
They won this year’s GCD Co-Ed League tournament title, knocking off Electric City Tavern 14-7 in the championship game on Saturday afternoon on the upper field at the North Dam ball fields in Grand Coulee.
“It was awesome!” said Cory Christman (Colville tribal member) first baseman for Bowman Electric. “The whole team played great. Just love playing. I get to play with some great players.”
“April’s team (Electric City Tavern) played a heck of a game against us. They are great competitors.”
We have been building a team for about three years now.
“Having that team spirit, I believe brings better players to us,” said Logan Bowman, Third baseman and team captain for Bowman Electric. “Every year seeing us want to win and having a good time doing it.
”Last year, the softball team from Inchelium won the whole thing.Bowman expressed that they had a few things go their way during the tournament.
