ELECTRIC CITY – In its 11th year, the Rattler Open Golf tournament hit two milestones. 

The one-day tournament at the Banks Lake Golf Course, had their biggest turnout ever Aug. 24, and, as a result, one of their biggest payouts in the small tournament’s history. 

First place went to Zeke Domebo, Dale Rinker and Dale Dunckel as each player walked away $1,150 each ($3,450 total as a team). 

Domebo, Rinker and Dunckel won The Team K.P (closest to putt) on Hole #6, with each player netting $50 

Pat Morin (Colville tribal member) and the father and son combination of Derek and Dax Whiteman (Colville tribal descendant) brought home second place as a team. Each player won $690 . 

Billy Desautel (Colville tribal member), Darin Whiteman and Brett Seaver placed third as a team, with each player walking away with $460 . 

Desautel, Whiteman and Seaver also won the Team K.P. Hole #17 for the side bets, netting $50 each . 

Victor Baptiste, John Bellis and Jamie Olsen won the Team K.P. on Hole #8, with each player netting $50 each ($150) 

Doug Boll, Wade Moses (Colville tribal member) and Jackson Louie (Colville tribal member) won the Team Long Putt on Hole #9, with each player winning $50. 

Jason Vanderweide, Sherwin Womer and Rachael Arthur each netted $50 for the Team L.P. Hole #18. 

Jamin Feist won the Long Drive competition, bringing home $165. 

Deion Cloud won the Senior Long Drive, netting $110. 

Shannon Wheeler was the K.P. Champion winning $310. 

Stephanie Dewinkler was the lucky winner of the 50/50 Rattler Fundraiser, bringing in $1,000. 

“We had 72 golfers,” said Russ Marchand (Colville tribal member), who organizes the event. “Many golfers from our local community including the Coulee area, Wilbur and Omak/Okanogan.” 

Marchand said there were dozens of tribal members from tribes around the area. Tribal members were from the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Spokane Tribe, Yakama Nation, Nez Perce Tribe, Okanogan Nations Alliance and the Colville Tribes 

Marchand gave special thanks to the many sponsors that supported the Rattler Open. 

Sponsors included Coulee Dam Credit Union, Colville Tribe, Muckleshoot Bingo, Womer & Associates, Galaxy Smoke Shop (Billy Nicholson), Dale Batey, Jackson’s Chevron, Tom Ball, Vi Nordhougen and Bunky Andrews.
