SPOKANE – A rigorous process of qualifying for the 4A boys state golf championships.
But for Camden Mills (Colville tribal member) of Union High School, he’s still got two more years to climb up the standings.
Mills placed 68th at the 4A Boys state golf tournament on, May 21, at The Creek at Qualchan in Spokane.
The Union High School sophomore golfer shot an 81 on the first day of the state tournament, and he made the cut for the second day.
“Struggled to a 93,” said Gary Mills, head coach for the Union High School girls and boys golf team, as well as Camden’s father. “The course was set up pretty tough.”
Camden and the Union boys golf team won their league championship for the fourth year in a row.
“As the season went on he became one of our best players and come on strong to shoot an 84 and 87 at districts and qualify for state.”
“He played his best golf at the end of the season.”
