Tribal member Robert Watt during a recent filmed interview.

During a filming of an interview with Colville tribal member Robert Watt, Watt shared the story of when he was asked by Eva Orr to stay back and protect the village site for the first winter.

Robert Watt: So I just had to end up staying there…like this is one of the stories like you said those personal stories… Well I’m sitting there just camped out… right at the Village site … man those guys are asking me to camp at a burial ground! (laughs)…Im just talking to myself because there’s nobody…nobody around… And I said I think I’m going crazy here because now I’m just talking to myself…and it’s like she said (Jennifer Ferguson’s comments about feeling a sense of physical pressure when you go to the site) like there’s this pressure … Im laying in my teepee like this and it felt like somebody sat on me… and they were kinda telling me I’m not talking to myself… and that somebody is hearing it… So they just sat on my like that… and I realized I am not talking to myself… they’re answering me.
