NESPELEM – The Colville Tribes continues to be impacted a network and phone outage on its east campus, officials reported this morning, after construction of a new building hit copper and fiber, officials said.
“The construction crew at the Government Center hit 800 pair copper and fiber that serves the east campus,” the Tribes’ Information Technology broadcast stated. “They also hit some fiber that will impact the network.”
I.T. telecom, network and cabling are out repairing the outage.
“Recovery will take time to repair,” the broadcast stated. “Work is continuing for splicing repairs until completed.”
Without network access is Child & Family Services, Child Support, Environmental Trust, History & Archaeology, Human Resources, Planning and Tribal Health, among others.
Without phones are I.T. administration, Accounting, Headstart headquarters, the I.T. Tech Center, Office of Reservation Attorney and the Environmental Trust building.
The initial broadcast for the outage went to tribal employees at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, July 16.
