NESEPELEM-This weekend, Nespelem Community Center will host a Celebration of life and healing ceremony.

In light of recent deaths within the community, concerned individuals formed a committee and met May 19, to discuss plans for a healing event. Members decided on a two-day event, which is set to begin Friday, May 29 at 5p.m. with a sweat lodge prayer.

The event continues Saturday at noon with a meal, followed by sharing and discussions concerning the grief and loss process.  Saturday evening includes a 5 p.m. potluck dinner followed by more healing and support activities.

All prayer denominations are welcome to attend the event.
