LEAVENWORTH - The Colville Confederated Tribes’ Fish and Wildlife Department announced an in-season rule change for the Ps’quosa Fishery at Icicle Creek, opening the fishery 24-hours per day, 7 days per week to Wenatchi Band members of the Colville Confederated Tribes as of June 13.

In a justification of the change published in a memorandum, CTFW wrote, “The Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery is expected to collect the required broomstick necessary to achieve the program’s production target.”

The fishery targets Leavenworth-stock spring Chinook salmon returning to the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery.

Previously, after opening the fishery, CTFW announced restricted hours at the site.

Unless otherwise changed, the fishery is expected to remain open until July 31.
