The Indian Health Service’s Portland Area Director Dean Seyler honored Colville tribal members Dayna Seymour and Lisa Kyle at the Director’s Recognition of Excellence Ceremony, May 20.
Both Seymour and Kyle work at Lake Roosevelt Community Health Centers, and were nominated by LRCHC director Ali Desautel.
Seymour, LRCHC’s referrals coordinator, received a customer service award.
“Dayna worked diligently on a project to develop a system to improve the timeliness between receiving referral requests, payment coordination, patient appointment schedules and closing the loop of follow-up,” wrote Desautel in nominating Seymour.
Desautel further noted Seymour developed and now maintains a referrals registry “that improves patient care by allowing for data collection, tracking and care coordination and planning.”
Kyle, LRCHC’s IT Coordinator, received a Director’s award.
“In 2015, with Lisa’s guidance our Health Centers were able to transition to ICD-10 with very little disruption to patient care, our revenue cycle or staff productivity,” wrote Desautel. “She was able to prepare all out staff through an impressive training plan while balancing the computer programing transition with outside consultants.”
“Lisa is unstopped by obstacles, pressures and demands that would disrupt others in her position and continually works to make sure that health services are available and accessible to our patients at all times even when she is not on-site.”
The awards dinner was held at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower.
