Three fires in Inchelium, WA increased in size overnight due to extreme winds. Yesterday, Tribal PD reported that four structures were lost to these fires. This included 2 homes and 2 outbuildings. Today, weather conditions have improved and this will help firefighters. The three fires are under investigation. Aircraft stationed in Omak, WA continue to be grounded due to limited visibility caused by heavy wildfire smoke. Evacuations have been issued please be aware of the definitions below:
Level 3 means “GO - Danger in your area is imminent and life threatening.”
Level 2 means “SET – Be Alert. There is significant danger to your area. Consider voluntarily relocating to a shelter or with family/friends outside the affected area.
Road Closures: Seyler Valley Road to Silver Creek Road.
Bridget Creek Road remains Open.
Fry Fire is located near Moon Mountain has burned 750 acres. This area is under a Level 3 evacuation for residents living near Twin Lakes and Meteor Road including North & South Twin.
Inchelium Highway Fire is burning near Hall Creek. This fire has burned 3,000 acres. Resources: 2 type 6 engines.
Level 3 evacuation for residents near Hall Creek and Seyler Valley Road
Evacuation levels lifted for Buttercup Lane and Cobb Creek. Residents need to continue to beware of fire in the area.
Kewa Field Fire has burned 3,000 acres. This information has been decreased from yesterday’s report due to better mapping. Firefighters continue to do point protection by constructing fire lines around structures. Resources: 1 man crew, 1 dozer with heavy equipment boss. This area remains under a Level 2 Evacuation for residents in Kewa Valley.
A Type 2 Incident Management Team has been ordered and will arrive this evening. Firefighters from Mt. Tolman Fire Center continue to work diligently in fighting these fires. Please stay out of the area of the fires. The safety of our firefighters and the community is our number one priority.
