Leanne Campbell

Coeur d'Alene tribal member and Colville descendant Leanne Campbell has been selected to receive a 2019 Esto Perpetua Award for her work in Idaho history.

The honor is given by the Idaho State Historical Society and is the highest in the state, according to a press release.

"I am honored to have my traditional arts recognized," Campbell said. "These are my talents as an individual and I have worked through both failure and success to attain this level of knowledge. It is a result of hours of work and years of dedication in my daily life for preservation of culture through the arts."

Campbell, the daughter of Andrew Elwell Jr. of Keller, will receive the award June 3 at the Idaho State Museum in Boise.
