NESPELEM — Colville Tribal member, Laura Morago, has been has been hired as the new Editor-in-chief for the Colville Confederated Tribes. 

With that, Morago, 34, assumes the duties as the managing editor for the Tribes’ bi-monthly publication, the Tribal Tribune. 

She joins the Tribune after 5 years working for the Tribes’ Youth Development Program, where she worked with local K-12 school districts advocating for Native American education policy and reform. 

In 2016, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English: Creative and Professional Writing from Central Washington University. 

She is a mother of four children: Noah, 15; Leilah, 13; Bodhi, 9; Grey, 5. 

A lifelong Omak resident, she currently lives in Keller, Washington.
