KELLER - The Mount Tolman Fire Center has announced, today, a partial hoot owl and a high fire danger across the Colville Reservation.

The hoot owl, defined as a level two on the Industrial Fire Precaution Level, went into effect at 6 a.m., today.

In IFPL level two, “The following may operate only between the hours of 8 p.m. and 1 p.m. local time: powersaws, except at loading sites; cable yarding; blasting; and welding or cutting of metal.”

Along with the high fire danger, the National Weather Service out of Spokane announced a feather weather watch for thunderstorms that could bring dry lightning, breezy winds from 15 to 20 MPH and gusts of wind up to 30 MPH from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.
