OMAK-Funeral Services have been arranged for the four victims of Wednesday evening’s car crash along Highway 2 west of Davenport, according to a Colville Tribal email broadcast.

Victims included Jake B. Walter, 28 of Omak; his wife Georgina Walter, 32; and their 5-month-old son Logan Walter. Also traveling with them was Georgina’s father George Friedlander, 68 of Nespelem.

A family rosary will be held 7:00p.m. Saturday, July 25 at the Omak Longhouse. Another rosary is planned for Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Omak Longhouse.  The family will be laid to rest at the Nespelem Catholic Cemetery, the broadcast stated.

Washington State Patrol reports Jake Walter was driving the vehicle west on Highway 2 when it moved left of the centerline while on a curve in the highway and struck a semi-truck traveling in the eastbound lane.

The driver of the truck, 57-year-old Gerald Kane, suffered minor injuries.

According to State Patrol, a special investigation unit has been called to investigate the crash site, near the Telford rest area between Davenport and Creston.

The Walter family leaves behind four other children who were not in the car at the time of the crash.
